Overture 5 manual

  • Quote

Postby Raymond63 »

Hello friends

finally I decided using Overture 5. Already downloaded the latest version (yesterday).
Avoiding useless discussion, where can I find the manual?

As always, I want to read the manual first, before diving into the deep (avoiding drowning - haha).

Overture Quick Help opens in a browser window. This is good and mimics the way one might use a .pdf file. In my case, I drag it to one of my other monitors so I can have it open while I explore Overture 5.

The tab on the right gives you the Search function. Unlike many, it's quite useful.

I don't miss a .pdf at all.

I just started using Overture 5, and I have obtained a copy of the manual for Overture 4, which I find quite helpful.

The Quick Help for O-5 places the emphasis on Quick with much less on Help. Since there appear to have been major upgrades from 4 to 5 an in-depth manual would be really beneficial. Do you know if there are any plans to produce one?

Thanx,

Hi there, and welcome to Sonic Scores.

There are some proposed changes that Don has hinted at such as the way instrument libraries are assigned and used internally.
The quick help is a dynamic thing for now as users are continually submitting items for change.
There will be an Overture library of sounds, currently being worked on, which will have to be documented.
Have I covered everything?
So bear in mind that Overture is still very much in development, although it looks and works as a polished product.
Overture works well and is ahead of the curve of its peers, so we areall pretty happy.
I hope that this partially answers your questions. Perhaps others will step in here.

Thanks for the reply. I guess I'll have to curb my impatience and provide comments on the Quick Help as I encounter them.

Raymond, don’t forget the quite good but somewhat dated and (sometimes) long-winded Youtube videos.
