Overture 5.6.1-2 (12-02-2019)

Improvements
• Rebar has completely been reworked and happens automatically when you change time signatures.
• Improved dot placement on dotted notes in tablature tracks.
• Font Map dialog now updates the X Y fields when characters is moved with mouse or arrow keys.
• Improved chord alternate bass note recognition from MIDI keyboard by using bottom note as bass note when the bottom note is an octave or more below the other notes.
• The metronome click now uses the beaming pattern and not the pulse settings. This allows for more flexibility when using composite meters.
• Browser panel now remembers open/close state of folders during the session.
• Added the ability in the Mixer and Track List to set VST3 ports for individual each voice on VST3 instruments that provide ports.
• Added command in Windows menu to switch to next and previous scores.
• When clicking on a note with a quarter tone accidental, the correct pitch plays.
• Add the ability to import/export Key Commands.
• Added a few more missing chords in the Chord library.
• Made a small improvement to note spacing and slur positioning.
• When using the Increase/Decrease measures per system, the system is locked for that number of measures, by using breaks.
To change the number of measures on the locked system, you can use the Increase/Decrease menu commands again or delete the break at the end of the system.
• Removed Measures per System and Systems per Page from the Engraving panel.
They were basically duplicated in the Active Parts Layout section.
• Added a separate setting for piano staves in the Engraver panel.
• Eliminated the Insert expression using controller and Insert expression using key switch in the track context menu.
The Expression menu option now only display the track's defined expressions.
• The Track context menu now shows the dynamic as icons instead of opening a dialog.
• Using Edit menu to disable playback on selected symbols no longer shows them in grey.
• Increased the font size just a bit in the Lyric edit text section.
• Line breaks in the Lyric edit text now behave as a space.
• Re-space Staves>Fill to the Bottom setting now works for single tracks and piano staves.
• Added Track menu items to Create, Remove, and Edit track group names. Previously this required a right click before left edge of staff.
• Pitches can now be entered as note names in the Edit>Select>Filter dialog.
• Replaced the online help with a PDF version in the Help menu.
• On tablature staves, notes with dots, only show the dots if Show Beams, Stems, Ties, etc. is set.
• Notes step entered now play using the Playback offset as set in the Track Inspector.
• The export folder is now saved with preferences.
• Pitches in note filer now use note name instead of MIDI pitch value.
• Improved importing/exporting of MusicXML chords.
• Improved chord recognition from MIDI keyboard.
Fixes
• Fixed long overdue problem with Enabling/Disabling MIDI keyboard input in MIDI Settings dialog.
• Fixed problem that caused Undo to return to a previous view setting.
• Fixed crash when starting a Blank Page
• Removed the Lowest fret setting in tablature panel because it never worked. Just use the capo setting to control lowest fret.
• Fixed problem that caused cursor to disappear on piano staves in the middle of scores containing many staves.
• Fixed paste problem that would make invisible rests become visible.
• Fixed bug that sometimes caused rests on piano tracks to be displayed on wrong staff when opening old scores.
• Changing the tablature font now sets the score's dirty flag.
• Fixed issue when dragging the top line of an ending that extended past the end of a system.
• Fixed issue with indicator baselines (lyric, dynamic, etc.) not being displayed when opening new scores.
• Fixed problems with the usage of the Font map in the Layout Panel and added an Apply button.
• Fixed problem with sending controller data to VST3 plugins.
• Added Orchestra Harp to top section of the the GM Sound Map
• Decrease Measures per System, now works on the last measure.
• Fixed bug that displayed wrong measure in Measure Delete dialog number when active measure is the last measure of the score.
• Hide/Show Staves and Remap Playback dialogs no longed crash on systems with DPI set above 100%.
• The Notes to Tablature menu command now matches the track's number of strings when it creates a new track.
• Fixed the small extra pitch bend at end of note on quarter tone note playback.
• Fixed an accidental bug when dragging a note past another note that had a quarter tone accidental.
• Fixed several paste bugs when copying and pasting using multi staff tracks.
• Fixed bug that caused a clef to jump before the note that was inserted before it.
• When clicking on a chord in the score, the root and bass settings in Chord panel now match.
• Recalc Layout no longer defaults to the Max Measures per System when set in the Active Parts>Layout section.
• Fixed a playback problem that ignored the dynamic occurring just after a hairpin.
• Fixed a bug that did not save the cresc/desc extended dash setting.
• Fixed vertical scrollbar syncing bug in the data view when horizontal scrolling from the score view.
• When Ctrl + shift dragging notes in Data view to drag velocities, the note is now deselected on mouse up.
• Fixed problem that did not allow some articulations like breath marks to be entered.
• Ctr[cmd] dragging notes in the Data View no longer leaves the adjusted note selected.
• Fixed problem with vertical scroll bar in Graphic View getting out of sync.
• Fixed small glitch with Alt[cm] dragging guitar bend amounts.
• Segno, Coda, etc now use the Groove Font when switching score font.

This improvement is wonderful!!
It's challenging enough sometimes hearing microtones and choosing how to notate. Now we can precisely hear the result in Overture.
However I do think Overture should position quarter sharps and quarter flats slightly more leftward by default.

Thanks so much for the microtonal improvements.

I opened an older project in it that was giving me — layout grief is as good as anything else. Various text boxes were now in different places and I thought, "Oh boy..."
This time, however, I was able to just grab and move and everything just stayed put. Moving other objects didn't disturb those that I'd just moved and nothing disappeared on me.
Yes! Yes! Yes!
This build must have been a lot of work. Thank you!

Thank you for providing the PDF User Guide. It's much better for searching, and recently the html guide had not been functioning correctly on my computer. Much appreciated.

Question
When I set the record button to record all but notes and I overdub a new cc for instance expression. It writes over all the other cc info. I can I rewrite one cc without affecting the others
Thx
